The Qatar state's National day was celebrated the 18th December at the Marriott Hotel in Rabat.

Rabat, Morocco, 23 June – Recognizing the role of youth in mobilizing action to prevent violent extremism (PVE) through sport-based activities, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) convened young civil society leaders from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in an intergenerational dialogue with key stakeholders. The event was organized within the framework of the Global Programme on the Security of Major Sporting Events and the Promotion of Sport and its Values as a Tool to Prevent Violent Extremism (“Global Programme”), which is led by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), in partnership with UNAOC, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), and the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS).

The UNAOC Young Peacebuilders programme, implemented by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) with the generous support of the Agencia Extremeña de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AEXCID), is a peace education initiative that equips young leaders aged 18 and 25 years old with peacebuilding skills while bringing visibility to their actions and projects towards the promotion of diversity and dialogue.

The June pre-summit, before the September "Transforming Education Summit" hosted by the United Nations, aims to harness the evolving discussions on transforming education, elaborate initial content for the summit, and generate momentum in the lead up to September. Qatar Fund for Development inaugurates the Assilah residential complex in the Kingdom of Morocco A high-level delegation from Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), led by HE Mr. Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of QFFD, participated in the opening ceremony of the Assilah housing project, during an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. The ceremony was held in the presence of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Morocco، in addition to representatives of the state and the Ministry of National Territory Preparation, Construction, Housing and City Policy and in addition to high-level and important figures from Moroccan society.

Within the framework of the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022, UNESCO IESALC took part in the Round Table: Higher education as a human right: Perspectives from youth and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education at 9:30-11:00 (Spain time) on May 20, 2022. Education is a fundamental human right for everyone. Commitment to the right to education extends to all levels of education because it is the right to lifelong learning and it is an integral part of the educational continuum; quality higher education should be available to all. To uphold this human right, higher education should be provided in different ways that embrace the very varied cultural, social, economic and linguistic backgrounds and interests of students around the world. To expand discussions around the right to higher education and move the international agenda forward, this session includes a speech by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Dr Koumbou Boly Barry, and a panel discussion raising youth voices and providing fresh perspectives on the human right to higher education.
